iPhone

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

I got an iPhone this weekend. It would be an expensive luxury, except the clinchers were an iPod and a camera built into the works. My BlackBerry camera sucked dingleberries. This means I finally can return the camera I’ve borrowed from Nathan for the past six months — thank you, Nathan! — and I can snap pictures of pretty/weird/freaky shit when I see it. This photo, of the moon and light globes over Cal Anderson Park, is bitchin’, no?

Sign of the Times

Monday, February 18th, 2008

I walked past this sign today.

Huh? Why did Value Village make a sign with today’s date on it, its logo, and nothing else? It’s President’s Day, for sure. Maybe there’s a sale. But the sign doesn’t say anything about the bank holiday. And it doesn’t say anything about a sale.

Which makes me wonder, why didn’t someone look at this and say, “Hey, this sign is like a blank page out of a calendar. It needs more information on it or something.” Probably nobody took the time because time is money and such and such. You’d think that before it got screened the printer–if no one else–would pipe up, “Uh, you sure you want to print it like that?” But that would take time and time is money and such and such… a sign of the times, indeed.
